✦ Our Story

Three names, one thread that never broke.

Bangwing IN didn't start as a Discord server, and it definitely didn't start with a business plan. It started with a Minecraft team that liked working together too much to let it end.

How the name evolved: three phases

Phase 1 — Foundation

Dragons

Before any of this existed, there was a private Minecraft SMP (Survival Multiplayer) group. The founder led a small team called Dragons — chosen for strength, unity and ambition. Nothing about it was built to grow into a company. It was just a group figuring out, in real time, how to work as a team: resolving conflict, running projects together, and leading through trust instead of authority. Those habits never really left.

Phase 2 — Expansion

Dragonspire

As the group outgrew Minecraft, it rebranded to Dragonspire — "the spire where dragons find rest, a place where legends take flight in the shadow of wings." That sentence ended up mattering more than anyone expected: it's the moment the project stopped being a gaming team and started being a sanctuary for creators, dreamers and anyone building something. Creative showcase channels, multi-interest roles, and the first skill-sharing spaces all trace back to this phase.

Phase 3 — January 10, 2023

Bangwing IN

A naming conflict forced one more change — and this time the founder, Rachit Ranjan, built the name himself. Bang, for impactful soundwaves and presence. Wing, for the lift and freedom of a dragon taking flight. Together: strength, momentum, and something distinct from every other generic "Indian Discord server" out there. This is the name that stuck.

Where that leaves us

Still run by the people who show up

Bangwing IN has grown from that small Minecraft team into a 1,500+ member community — still independently run by a small team of passionate Indian teenagers, with the founder personally overseeing everything from bot development to moderation architecture. The Minecraft server, for what it's worth, never actually went away — it's still running, synced live into a Discord channel.

No investors, no growth agency, no corporate parent. Just open platforms, tools chosen for ethics over convenience, and a habit of actually reading community feedback instead of just collecting it.

Mission

To provide a dynamic, inclusive and safe digital hub for collaboration, shared goals and meaningful interaction — a place where members can genuinely grow, connect and thrive.

Vision

To evolve into a fully open platform — one that sets the standard for ethical, inclusive, and innovative community-building in India's digital space, not just for members but for how communities like this ought to be run.

What we won't compromise on

Seven values, in plain language

The name behind the name

What "BIND" actually stands for

The community goes by Bangwing IN day to day. Behind it sits the formal name: Bangwings Inclusion & INDIA, shortened to BIND — a small nod to what the whole project is actually trying to do: bind people together across language, region and background into one honest, functioning community.

Our own guild tag, ᗷ!ꋊᗪ, translates informally to "Black Moon" — which is really just where the site's night-sky palette came from.

The founder

Rachit Ranjan

Founder and owner of Bangwing IN since day one. What started as leading a Minecraft team turned into a genuine interest in how communities actually work — teamwork, collaboration, and the kind of creativity that only shows up when people feel safe enough to try things. He still oversees the entire operation personally, from bot architecture to moderation policy, and can be reached directly on Discord as ronie_wonie.

Come see what three years of "just people" actually built.
